10 Awful Movies That Wasted Awesome Ensemble Casts
5. Be Cool (2005)

The Ensemble: John Travolta, Uma Thurman, Danny DeVito, Vince Vaughn, Cedric The Entertainer, The Rock, Harvey Keitel Be Cool is actually a sequel to a much better and far more interesting crime thriller from the '90s, Get Shorty. This follow-up came 10 years after the original at a time when nobody was really interested in watching a follow-up, though for some reason the pieces came together, John Travolta needed something to do, and - wham - here it is. Rather surprisingly, Be Cool still made its money back at the box office, though. Still, the movie itself - which concerns a gangster plot based around the music business - is Godawful from start to finish, and is reminiscent of its predecessor in very few ways. Worst of all, it wastes an ensemble who could have really worked magic together, especially in John Travolta and Uma Thurman, reunited here for the first time since Pulp Fiction. I guess that's why people went to see this in the first place, but the movie itself is a relative killjoy: totally out of time, and lukewarm.
