8. The Monster - Bird Box
Netflix's smash hit post-apocalyptic horror film Bird Box famously never reveals the supernatural creatures which prompt anyone who looks at them to commit suicide, but that actually wasn't the original plan during production.
Screenwriter Eric Heisserer confirmed that the producers begged him to write a scene that revealed the creatures, so he came up with a nightmare sequence where Malorie (Sandra Bullock) encounters one of the entities.
Thanks to a (now-deleted) Instagram post from special effects artist Andy Bergholtz at Sfxatlas, we can see what the monster would've looked like, a rather terrifying cherub-like creature that would've apparently been given CGI tentacles in post-production.
As it turned out, the scene ended up being too unintentionally comical to pass muster, so it was cut from the final film. All things considered, it was probably for the best.
