8. Step Up (Channing Tatum)

2006's hugely successful dance movie Step Up is an undeniably easy target for derision and probably something Channing Tatum would prefer to forget, even if it's really more forgettably mediocre than legitimately terrible.

Tatum is serviceable as the troubled youngster who finds meaning through the spirit of dance, but the film is toe-curlingly earnest at times, focusing more on the cornball narrative than the actual dancing and suffering from a stiff supporting cast.

Though it kick-started a mammoth movie franchise, the first Step Up is actually one of the worst instalments (yes, we've seen them all). It was a stepping stone for Tatum to do better things, and that's pretty much the most convincing justification for its existence.
