5. 2017's Worst - Fifty Shades Darker
It remains an absolute tragedy of humanity that so many bought EL James' Twilight fan fiction dressed up as something else, 50 Shades Of Grey. It's neither good nor particularly sexy, based on abuse rather than real BDSM and it lacked so much charm that it's a wonder anyone got past the first few pages.

But they did, in their droves and the book sales inevitably meant that we'd get a film series that could neither deliver on the lewd sequences nor drag anything approaching entertainment out of the story. The finale of that film series arrived in 2017 and, unsurprisingly, felt like the shame, the mess and the cold, faintly sticky patch left-over from a bad shag.
