10 Best "Everything You Know Is A Lie" Moments In Horror Movies

9. Demons Are Real - Frailty

Bill Paxton's absurdly underappreciated directorial debut Frailty sure is a wild ride alright.

The bulk of the film sees a man by the name of Fenton Meiks (Matthew McConaughey) regaling FBI Agent Wesley Doyle (Powers Boothe) with the story of his childhood.

Fenton reveals that his father claimed to have been tasked by God with destroying "demons" disguised as humans on Earth.

This led him to kill people on a list of names revealed to him by an angel, while getting Fenton and his other son, Adam, to help dispose of the bodies.

Ultimately Fenton ends up killing his own father, after which it's revealed that the adult "Fenton" is actually Adam, who killed the real Fenton after he grew up to become a serial killer.

But the real kicker comes when Adam reveals that he shared his father's visions from God and that, indeed, those they abducted really were demons.

More to the point, Doyle is himself a demon who was responsible for the death of Adam's mother, and Adam's meeting with Doyle has been part of a scheme to lure him out into the open, where Adam kills and buries him.

Even if this entry has spoiled Frailty for you (sorry!), it's still a movie well worth checking out.
