Although some of his famous works include Suspiria and Inferno, Tenebre remains an underrated gem in his filmography.

The film is one of the finest examples of an Italian giallo horror film, centring on a serial killer who copies his killings based around the murder mystery novel, Tenebrae. The novel in question was written by Peter Neal (Anthony Franciosa), who then becomes involved in the search for the killer.

Tenebrae may not be as famous as Dario's Suspiria became (or Dawn of the Dead, which he technically co-produced with George Romero), but it’s definitely worth checking out. It has some unnervingly gorgeous and beautiful scenes of gore, and uses the blood and guts to striking effect throughout the course of events.

Tenebrae is definitely one of the Italian giallo movies that everyone should check out.
