Comedy is undoubtedly the most subjective genre of movie. Everybody on the planet has varying senses of humour, with some adoring crude, gross-out hits like American Pie and others preferring more sophisticated efforts like In The Loop. Certain humour just completely goes over the heads of some. Using television as an example, there will be some who find Del Boy falling through the bar in Only Fools and Horses one of the greatest moments in British comedy history, while others will simply not understand why such a simple, relatively immature gag is so amusing. Since the turn of the century, there have been some truly brilliant comedy films released, and selecting the 10 best comedies of the new millennium is a tricky task. The likes of Shaun of the Dead, Pineapple Express, Role Models, Scary Movie and Step Brothers, among many others, are all unfortunate to miss the cut, but there are obviously fantastic movies ahead of them. There are some laugh-a-minute films, a memorable "mockumentary" and some brilliant satirical efforts all included. The likes of Will Ferrell and Judd Apatow have both been incredibly influential in comedy films since the year 2000, and it should be no surprise to see both featuring heavily throughout.
