10 Best Jokes From Star Wars Movies

3. "I Don't Want To Sell You Deathsticks" - Star Wars Episode II: Attack Of The Clones

Despite its obvious silliness, the Coruscant chase scene in Attack Of The Clones is one of the film's better aspects. Not only does it provide a big screen glimpse of Corasaunt from a street-level perspective, but it also features this small (and quite effective) comedic scene, where Obi-Wan immediately shuts down a small-time drug pusher. This is another instance where the humour comes from being familiar with the Star Wars world. Already schooled on Jedi mind tricks in Episode IV, when the pusher starts immediately echoing Obi-Wan's commands of "you don't want to sell me deathsticks", the audience gets a joke that's funny both on a performance level and as cheeky in-joke. It's the effortless nature of Obi-Wan's commands that gives this scene its comedic worth, not to mention how actor Matt Doran also does a great job, acting like he has been instantaneously lobotomised.
