One of the most gripping, intense sequences in Captain America: The Winter Soldier occurs when Nick Fury is forced to escape an unexpected assault by HYDRA forces. The scene gives Samuel L. Jackson the chance to prove how resourceful and truly awesome the character is capable of being before crossing paths with the Winter Soldier.Though the Winter Soldier's true identity probably wasn't a big surprise to many with no knowledge of the comics considering how freely trailers and commercials leading up to the film's release gave it away, his quick introduction here is slick nonetheless as he stops Fury within seconds. The character would go on to have a number of better sequences in the film, particularly his first hand-to-hand fight with Cap, but between the out of focus first look Fury and audiences get of him and the considerable potency of the chase leading up to it, the Winter Soldier's introduction stands as one of the year's best Marvel moments.
