10 Best MCU Movie Endings (So Far)
10. Avengers Assemble
Before the Marvel Cinematic Universe grew to be the biggest movie franchise in the history of film, its first big crossover event featured just a mere six superheroes. This was a groundbreaking movie, that almost single-handedly kicked off the shared universe craze in Hollywood, and its success built the foundation for the bigger events years down the road.
There's no denying that the entire movie is incredible from the very beginning, but the third act is truly the highlight. As soon as the Chitauri beamed down to Earth, the Battle of New York took the movie to another level as we finally got to see Earth's Mightiest Heroes all on the same page for the very first time.
While there are the huge, CGI driven set pieces, and aliens flying through the sky, there is also a huge amount of character-driven storytelling. Loki's one on one talk with Tony Stark, Cap taking the reigns and emerging as the leader of a team that comprised a monster and a god, and of course Iron Man's journey through the wormhole to the other side.
Topped off with the iconic shot of the team confronting a defeated Loki, and Nick Fury's powerful voice over, Avengers Assemble set the bar for all future crossover movies incredibly high.
