1. The Snap - Avengers: Infinity War
Look, nobody said death had to be permanent, and while it certainly wasn't gory or terribly surprising, the "deaths" caused by Thanos' (Josh Brolin) snap were surely the most iconic and talked about in all of 2018.
Seeing Bucky (Sebastian Stan), T'Challa, Groot (Vin Diesel), Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), Falcon (Anthony Mackie), Mantis (Pom Klementieff), Drax (Dave Bautista), Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Spider-Man (Tom Holland) all evaporate into dust was nothing if not traumatic.
This is especially true in the case of Peter Parker, given his relative youth and gis clear fear at knowing he was about to disappear into the void.
Sure, it's all going to be undone by the end of Avengers: Endgame (probably), but that doesn't detract from how jaw-dropping it was in the moment, or how effective it was dramatically.
