10 Best Movie Insults Of All Time

1. Full Metal Jacket

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aUc62jD-G0o&t=2m27s R. Lee Ermey was once a real-life drill Sergeant in the U.S. Army, and he brings all of that intensity to his stunning performance - again, one which should have been Oscar-nominated - as Gunnery Sergeant Hartman, the cantankerous man tasked with whipping the doughy new recruits into shape during the film's first half. Again, it's hard to stick on just one insult that rises above the pack, though for me, this is the most cutting, if only barely: "I bet you're the kinda guy that would f*** a person in the ass and not even have the goddamn common courtesy to give him a reach-around." It's dementedly hilarious, and like most of this scene, it's difficult to tell how much of it Ermey improvised and how much flows from Kubrick's pen. What's clear is that the utterance has entered into the pop culture pantheon, and thanks to the invention that is Internet sound-boards, prank phone calls have never been the same since.
