Here's one that I'd love to say to so many people in real life, though it crosses a certain line with its use of the still taboo "C-word". The ever-irascible Malcolm Tucker (Peter Capaldi) rails against one of his more, shall we say, snoozy American colleagues, causing him to eventually launch into this tirade: "Youre a real boring f***. Sorry, sorry, I know that you disapprove of swearing, so Ill sort that. You are a boring f-star-star-C***!" We shouldn't expect any less from Armando Iannucci, really. This might just be one of the cleverest uses of profanity in the history of the English language; Malcolm begins by censoring himself, and just when you least expect it, he pulls out that divisive word to shock us all. They say comedy is about surprise and confounding expectations; this scene certainly does that.
