Toy Story 3, like most Pixar films, benefited from a superb marketing campaign, but the truly inspired measure of genius came when they decided to create a live-action commercial for the leader of the Sunnyside Daycare Center - and eventual antagonist - Lots-O'-Huggin' Bear. Curiously styled as a toy that had its peak during the 1980s, the advert is superbly convincing at looking as though it's three-decades old, even going as far as to feature VHS static at the edges of the screen, uneven colourisation, and a dodgy voice-over to boot. Though the Toy Story movies are in effect superb advertising for the toys that feature within them - and unsurprisingly, they make far more money from merchandising than the films themselves - this is a brilliant instance of a great toy being excellent advertising for the film. Also, it's a great way to draw adults into the mix, given their unmistakable nostalgia for these sorts of cheesy adverts, that will remind them of their own childhood.
