10 Best Movie Terrorists

4. The Joker / Bane - The Dark Knight Trilogy

"Introduce a little anarchy. Upset the established order, and everything becomes chaos. I'm an agent of chaos. Oh, and you know the thing about chaos? It's fair!"
"We both know that I now have to kill you. You'll just have to imagine the fire!"
Okay, perhaps we're cheating with this two-for-one combo, but they're both effective terrorists in their own right and the two villains that hurt Batman / Bruce Wayne the most. They both brought Gotham to its knees and while Health Ledger's Joker was arguably the better character, Tom Hardy's Bane rose triumphant as the worst super villain ever to walk the streets of Gotham. Let's compare their two very different methods of terrorism. The Joker - from the twisted social experiment (who will blow each other up first? The boat full of passengers or the boat full of convicts?) to the exploding of an entire hospital - is the ultimate anarchist. If the theme of The Dark Knight is escalation, then the Joker is the heart of that chaos. He personally hurts Batman with the death of Rachel Dawes and the city through the destruction of its €˜White Knight€™ Harvey Dent. Bane - the Joker might be the better character but it is Bane who tops him as a terrorist. He cripples Gotham in one fell swoop, from the spectacular bombing of the stadium and bridges, to the imprisonment of the entire Gotham police force before breaking the Bat himself. Few movie terrorists have achieved the terrifying feats of Bane. He crushes all hope of escape and destroys the lives of everyone in Gotham. The Method Behind Their Madness To unleash chaos upon Gotham and destroy its hero, Batman.. The Degree Of Terror And Destruction They Leave In Their Wake Banks, hospitals, stadiums, the city and all its inhabitants. Gotham pretty much goes down the toilet. Bane's reveal stands up as the most spectacular act of terrorism of them all.Their Sheer Force Of Their Characters Heath Ledger's Joker is one of the greatest super villains ever committed to film. As for Bane, the mere size of him is terrifying and immediately right the wrongs from his treatment in Batman & Robin. Few super villains will ever be as dark and dangerous as these two.
