Inception was one of the most beloved sci-fi movies of the last decade. Given its unusual premise, the stellar cast, and the superb direction, it certainly deserves its reputation.

With Leonardo DiCaprio’s voiceover at its core, this trailer tackles the challenge of explaining Inception without confusing the viewer. Despite not going into excessive detail, it’s clear who DiCaprio’s character is and the kind of work he undertakes.

Zack Hemsey’s ‘Time Heist’ ripples behind DiCaprio’s voice but becomes more prominent in the second half of the trailer. It’s here that snippets of Christopher Nolan’s brilliantly-directed set-pieces come to the fore and sell the film to those more interested in action than sci-fi.

After The Dark Knight, Inception would have sold on Nolan’s name alone, but trailers like this built up the hype to a much greater level. Even with such hype, the film was anything but a dissapointment.
