Adam Scott's introduction into this movie has to rank as one of the best first appearances that a character has ever had. His role in Step Brothers is one the projects that he is best known for, and there is a good reason for that.

The film is an uproarious comedy that sees two middle-aged men who still live with their parents begin a rivalry as the parental figures in their life get married. Immaturity and a tonne of improvised one-liners fly out of the screen from the leads played by John C. Reilly and Will Ferrell.

However, one of the biggest highlights is our resident Ben Wyatt taking on the role of Derek, the jerk brother of Will Ferrell's leading role. He exudes this arrogant and unapologetically awful aura that makes the character incredibly hateable. It's hard to think of the loveable Ben being a first-class villain, but here he certainly is.

The Adam McKay title has a big following and is one of the most quotable movies you will ever watch. Its simplistic story allows for the characters to take priority over the plot, and this helps to make it such an engaging time.
