10 Best Musical Themes From Live-Action Marvel Movies

8. The Punisher (2004)

Love it or hate it, 2004's effort to bring Marvel's classic antihero to the screen has a number of highlights, particularly when compared to its Dolph Lundgren predecessor in 1989 and its Ray Stevenson-infused follow-up in 2008. One of these is the score provided by Italian composer Carlo Siliotto, who layered the film's score with a surprisingly tender and tragic texture. Siliotto's theme for the character kicks in throughout the film a number of times, usually with each variation being strikingly different than the last. While it's never a high octane theme or something that easily amps up viewers for what they're about to see in the way the best action themes do, its the subtle gracefulness and ability to blend tragedy with a dash of hopefulness that works for both the film and the way it presents Frank Castle.
