10 Biggest 2015 Oscar Nomination Surprises

6. Best Lead Actress Shake-Up

Unlike some of the other categories, this one seemed a little bit more open and competitive in terms of who will get a nomination (most people are still pretty sure that Julianne Moore is going to end up walking away with the trophy, though). Amy Adams' Golden Globe win for Big Eyes last week (albeit in the Musical or Comedy category, which Oscar traditionally doesn't like as much as the Hollywood Foreign Press) seemed to have put her in a better position for at least a nomination, especially considering that the Academy has had a big old crush on her for the past decade or so. Then there's Jennifer Aniston, who only occasionally takes a step out of the romantic comedy bubble she's been in since Friends, but had been getting a significant amount of buzz for her role as a woman suffering with chronic pain in the film Cake. Until the Oscar nomination ceremony, most people would have thought that at least one of them would have made the least. But it looks like their spot was taken by Marion Cotillard, for her work in Two Days, One Night.
