4. Pacific Rim Uprising Will Tie In With The Godzilla Films

Warner Bros' MonsterVerse is limited to the confines of Godzilla and King Kong movies right now, but that could change when Pacific Rim Uprising stomps into theatres next March.

The original Pacific Rim was a homage to classic monster movies like the early Godzilla series, and given that it comes from the same studio and bears thematic similarities to the MonsterVerse project, it makes sense to cross them over.

It's possible this has been the plan all along, but Warner is keeping the connection between Pacific Rim, Godzilla and King Kong under wraps to avoid spoiling Uprising's big twist. Isn't it possible that Pacific Rim takes place in a near-future version of Godzilla and Kong: Skull Island's world?

Introducing Jagers to the MonsterVerse ahead of Godzilla vs. Kong in 2020 would really level the playing field. The human characters would actually have a fighting chance when these two behemoths lock horns on the big screen.

Giving mankind the chance to intervene and defend itself will add an interesting extra dimension to the Godzilla vs. Kong.
