A lot of Dark Tower fans will be keeping their eyes peeled for casting annoncement, but there's no word yet on who will play fan favourite character Eddie Dean. Eddie is a heroin addict from New York in his early twenties; he's saved from arrest by Roland in his own world and joins him in Mid-World, nursing the injured gunslinger back to health despite suffering from heroin withdrawal symptoms. Ideal Casting: Aaron Paul Paul was first linked with the role so long ago that Ron Howard was attached to direct. Back in 2012 he further claimed to have had "a ton of meetings" with the would-be director about his potential casting. Frankly, if he is available and still interested, someone should pick up the phone to him immediately; he'd be perfect. Sure, it screams "typecasting" to give Paul another role as the drug addicted side-kick to a main character after he made his name as meth addict Jesse Pinkman in Breaking Bad, but when something is such a good fit, why fight it? Back Up Casting: Ashton Kutcher A bit of of a left-field choice, maybe, but Kutcher can pull off Dean's sarcasm, though I wouldn't be as convinced by his ability to do similar justice to Dean's dramatic arc as I am by Aaron Paul's.
