There are few things more important in a movie than casting - a great actor can help elevate a movie even when the script isn't great or the director is in over their head.

Get the casting wrong, however, and a film just fundamentally will not work.

These 10 announced movies, then, would be smart to cast these actors in roles which have either been confirmed already or at least heavily rumoured online.

From superheroes finally being brought to the big screen to long-gestating prequel iterations of iconic characters, these are the actors who absolutely, positively need to be hired for these parts.

There's so much that goes into casting, of course - beyond chemistry, there's scheduling and payment - so nothing's ever guaranteed no matter how obvious it might seem, but these are the casting picks which would basically ensure a spectacular end result.

It remains to be seen who will end up in these roles - assuming these characters do indeed appear in said films - but if any casting agents are paying attention, they'd be foolish to sleep on these pitch-perfect casting choices...

10. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau - Adam Warlock (Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3)

Though there certainly aren't any guarantees that Adam Warlock will appear in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, the character's existence within the Marvel Cinematic Universe was confirmed at the end of the second film, and writer-director James Gunn has since stated he will play an important role in the MCU's future.

Assuming that Adam Warlock does appear in Vol. 3, however, casting the ultra-charismatic space-messiah rock-god won't be easy.

Zac Efron's name has been bandied around a lot online, though one suspects that at this point his casting would simply be too obvious and pat for Gunn to actually pull the trigger.

But a more interesting possibility comes in the form of Game of Thrones star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. In addition to bearing a strong physical resemblance to the comic book Warlock, we know he's got what it takes to play a charming a**hole.

It's an extremely tough part to cast, but Coster-Waldau offers up the best of both worlds - cheeky suaveness and dramatic stoicism when the time calls for it.
