Originally Played By: Sumela Kay plays Kitty Pryde in the first X-Men film, albeit only in cameo form, having a brief interaction with Professor Xavier and Wolverine. In X2, Kitty is recast with actress Katie Stuart, though again this is a small role: as with many mutants in the film, she appears briefly during William Stryker's assault on the X-Mansion, using her phasing ability to escape. Recast As: Ellen Page took the role to new, significant heights in X-Men: The Last Stand, becoming a key supporting character, and most famously having an extended chase with Juggernaut (to which he, played by Vinnie Jones, uttered the infamous "I'm the Juggernaut, b****!"). Page will also be playing Pryde in the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past, in what is inarguably Pryde's most significant role to date, given how the time travel aspect of the narrative is brought about by her abilities.
