Though it would struggle to muster up the same level of heartbreak as Agent Coulson's "death" in The Avengers, Maria Hill has been a stalwart peripheral component in the MCU, likable for her fierce dedication to her job, her badass nature, and if we're honest, her good looks, and the fact that she's played by Robin from How I Met Your Mother. With Coulson gone (assuming he sticks to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), there's a void to be filled - as made evident by Hill's placement in the final scene of The Avengers - and wouldn't it make sense to have someone as noble and brave as Hill step up to the plate? I can see a vintage Whedon twist happening; Hill gets built up as the next big thing, only to die a heroic, tragic death in the final reel of the movie, probably being impaled by something large, as seems to be the standard operating procedure in Whedon's movies. Given her likable nature, this could actually work. Chance Of It Happening: 6/10
