10 Clever Ways Horror Movies Foreshadow the Ending

10. The Board Games - Ready Or Not

Ready or Not is one of those films that spills the beans immediately, yet nobody catches that on a first watch since it's done so tactfully.

We get off to an ominous start as the very first frame depicts the image of a grinning Devil surrounded by playing cards. As the camera zooms out, it's revealed this picture belongs to a seemingly harmless board game called Le Bail's Gambit. Once the camera pans to the side, other board games can be observed, including Family Ritual, Secret Council, Abracadabra, and Sunrise.

It may look straightforward, but this sequence spells out Ready or Not's entire plot. When the protagonist, Grace, marries into the Domas family, they inform her that they acquired their fortune after their ancestor made a deal with someone called Le Bail. As has been established in the prologue, Le Bail is the Devil. To avoid having their souls collected, the family must perform a magical ritual on Grace before sunrise.

Although these details are divulged slowly but surely, anyone who was paying attention could've deduced everything before any characters were introduced or a word of dialogue was uttered.
