8. Halle Berry - Catwoman
Despite the successes of Monsters Ball, Halle Berry's career hadn't been all highs up until her regrettable decision to redo Catwoman, but she did have a Bond film and the best X-Men movie under her belt and she was firmly on the rise.
Unfortunately though, Catwoman represented a miserable downturn in the quality of her performances just three years after she won an Oscar, and while the script and directing were awful, it was her performance that is mostly held up as the film's biggest weakness. It's hard to come back from that sort of criticism.
What She Did Next
Tried - and mostly succeeded - to prove that her Oscar high had been a fluke. Aside from a three year hiatus, most of her roles have been the kind of thing Jennifer Lopez would turn her nose up at (aside from Extant, which wasn't wholly bad).
