10 Comic Characters You Totally Forgot Are Already In The Marvel Cinematic Universe

By Geoff Cox /

1. Bessie/Hellcow

Who? Bessie made her first appearance in Marvel Comics way back in 1975, a cow preyed upon by Dracula himself who rose from the dead - as the vampiric Hellcow, of course. Living for several hundred years, Hellcow most notably came into conflict with Howard the Duck and has even teamed up with Deadpool. In the MCU: In "A Hen in the Wolf House," the fifth episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s second season, Simmons was on the final stretch of working undercover at HYDRA's laboratories. With her lab partner, she was seen investigating Bessie's milk on the evil organization's behalf, and even name-dropped "Hellcow" when questioning what kind of cow could produce carmine milk. Why You Forgot: It's such a simple to miss reference to a completely obscure character from Marvel history, but kind of awesome for cementing the fact that - somewhere out there in the MCU - there's a vampiric cow lurking around.
