Speaking of Arrow, another character from that show thats dripping in cinematic potential is the Black Canary. Over the course of four seasons of Arrow, multiple variations on this black-clad female hero have popped up and kicked ass. In the comics, the main version is martial arts expert, master tactician and motorbike enthusiast Dinah Lance. A superpower-free female bad-ass like this could be a hugely popular addition to the DCEU. Seeking to echo and expand upon the positive response to Scarlett Johanssons Black Widow over at Marvel, DC could slot Black Canary into a team-up movie before spinning her out into a standalone franchise. This could be the comic book movie role that Ronda Rousey has been looking for. Itd suit her fighting skillset, as well as allowing her to dig her teeth into a deeper acting role than shes ever attempted before. After all, Dinah isnt just a fighter shes also the daughter of a dead police chief and has some serious attitude. Rousey has a huge amount of star power thanks to her fighting-based celebrity, too. If Warner Bros gave her an action franchise to call her own (building on her small roles in Entourage, Fast & Furious 7 and The Expendables 3), Rouseys fans would surely turn up and buy tickets en masse.
