10 Deleted MCU Scenes You Have To See

10. Doctor Strange Heals A Dog - Doctor Strange

This scene comes shortly after Doctor Strange arrives in Kathmandu, and unfortunately, it’s this placing early in the runtime that was its undoing. It showed a little slice of humanity within Strange, but he was still within his downward spiral at this point so it wasn’t particularly fitting.

In it, Doctor Strange approaches a mangy looking dog and MacGyvers a makeshift splint out of nearby objects. It’s the first real sign of Strange actually being heroic, given that riches and glory are the clear motivation for his life-saving achievements as a surgeon, rather than any altruistic goodness.

Taking so long in the movie to actually make their lead likeable was definitely a risk, but at least they stuck to their guns with it, rather than cramming this incident in there to remind us he’s a good guy at heart.

On-screen animals usually enjoy their fair share of popularity from the fandom - just look at Goose the Flerken in Captain Marvel. If the dog had remained in the final version of the Doctor Strange flick, he certainly would have been a hit. On balance though, it’s probably for the best that this was left out.
