2. Alien Eggs And An Alternate Ending

Ridley Scott€™s original Alien feels like such a taut, no-frills horror with an instantly iconic set of characters (including the eponymous xenomorph, of course) that it'€™s hard to imagine anything was cut away. And yet the film went through a whole bunch of changes during its production, beginning as a script by Dan O€™'Bannon named Star Beast. Yeah, probably a good thing they changed that. Who would want to live in a world of Star Beasts, Start Beast 3 and Star Beast: Resurrection? And what would Prometheus be called?

Most importantly, the film features a couple of deleted scenes that have remained on the cutting room floor even after multiple director€™'s cuts produced by Scott. The first involved Ripley happening upon crewmates Dallas and Brett, cocooned and being turned into facehugger eggs, which isn't a concept introduced properly until James Cameron€™s sequel. Even more radical was the original ending, where the Alien on Ripley'€™s escape craft killed her, then imitated her voice as it requested safe passage to Earth...
