10. Bad Tattoos - Suicide Squad & The Bride!

In early 2024, it was revealed that Jessie Buckley, Christian Bale, and Penelope Cruz would be joining director Maggie Gyllenhaal to make The Bride!, a re-do of classic monster movie Bride of Frankenstein. 

It was later revealed that Bale would be playing Frankenstein’s monster and pictures of the actor in costume were shared online. Ironically, considering the Welshman famously played Batman, the Internet made many comparisons between him and one of the Caped Crusader’s biggest enemies.

Fans noticed that Bale’s monster design was a dead ringer for Jared Leto’s infamous incarnation of the Joker from Suicide Squad. This version of the Clown Prince of Crime was roundly mocked for his golden grills and audacious tattoos, and wouldn’t you know it, this recent costume has also been memed to within an inch of its life.

Suicide Squad came out in 2016, which means that, in just eight years, the costume department for The Bride! forgot how bad the reaction to Joker’s look was.

Hopefully, Gyllenhall will be able to shake off this bad press and deliver what could be a really fun film. As for Bale, he should probably stay off Twitter for a while.
