10 Directors Who Should Have Their Filmmaking Rights Revoked

2. Francis Ford Coppola

This is such an odd fall from grace as Francis Ford Coppola is responsible for making at least three of the greatest movies of the last 100 years. Yet the issue is, they are all in the 1970s. A victim of the zeitgeist of the best cinematic era in mainstream cinema, he now is nothing but an old hack of a director, a husk of his former self. With the exception of Rumble Fish, he hasn't made a decent film since 1992's Dracula and even that divides opinion. It really doesn't matter what he makes, whether it's a 90s film with the hairiest man ever to live playing a child, or a sequel to the greatest movie(s) ever starring none other than his daughter who can't act - the man has solidified his place in history as one of the most important film makers to ever grace our planet. Passion or not, it is time for Coppola to stop making movies. Make him an offer he can't refuse: force the man to retire. Best Film: The Godfather (1972) Most Recent Travesty: Twixt (2011)
