On the whole, I loved Ridley Scott's Prometheus, and generally defend it to those who try to tear it down. There's one plot point that's completely indefensible though; as Meredith Vickers (Charlize Theron) and Shaw (Noomi Rapace) are running away from the falling derelict ship near the end of the movie, Vickers runs in a completely straight line away from it, meaning that she's effortlessly crushed to death when it approaches. While it's sort of hard to crane your neck around and see what's going on behind you while running for your life, surely it's not too much of an assumption that if you keep running straight, the gigantic ship behind you is going to catch up and squish you to bits. If she'd just ran in a diagonal line in either direction, she'd probably still be alive. And that's easily the dumbest choice made by anyone on this list. Have a Darwin Award.
