10 Dumbest Decisions Made By Star Wars Characters

10. Obi-Wan Hides Luke On Vader's Home Planet - Revenge Of The Sith (2005)

This entry is actually a collection of dumb decisions, all centring around Obi-Wan's apparent lack of inductive reasoning.

At the conclusion of Revenge of the Sith, Anakin Skywalker has gone full Darth Vader, the galaxy is controlled by the evil Galactic Empire, and Anakin's twin children are born orphans. Leia goes to Bail Organa, her name is changed and she grows up none the wiser; job done.

This seems like an opportune moment for Obi-Wan to get the other child, Luke, out of dodge with a similar plan. So, naturally, he takes him to Anakin Skywalker's home planet of Tatooine and leaves the boy in the care of Anakin's own relatives.

For reasons best known to Owen and Beru (Luke's aunt and uncle), they then let the boy keep the Skywalker family name, rather than christening him with their own: Lars.

But that's not where the surname-based shenanigans end, oh no. Obi-Wan also keeps most of his own name in-tact - you're fooling no-one with 'Ben Kenobi', Obi.

Having said all that, it is to Vader's discredit as much as it is Obi-Wan's that neither him nor the Empire found Luke with these myriad clues pointing directly to him.
