10. When She Forgot The Invisibility Cloak – The Philosopher’s Stone

Norbert the Norwegian Ridgeback was a headache for Harry, Ron and Hermione. As much as they respected Hagrid as a friend and father-figure, he was also very impractical when it came to his love for magical creatures.

In order to save Hagrid from potentially losing his job as gamekeeper, Harry and Hermione took Norbert to the top of the tallest tower so he could be escorted to Romania.

However, after watching Norbert vanish into the distance, both Harry and Hermione descended the tower without the Invisibility Cloak, and were then spotted by the unhinged caretaker – Argus Filch.

Granted, Harry was equally responsible for this lapse in concentration. But given Hermione was the smartest student in the year, it was highly out of character for her to make such a blunder.
