3. When She Had A Fixation With Gilderoy Lockhart - The Chamber Of Secrets

Lockhart’s natural charisma and physical attractiveness was a big part of why he was able to become such a famous wizard. Indeed, he was so charming that even Hermione was fooled into thinking he was talented.

Ironically, it was Ron who cottoned on to the fact that Lockhart was a fraud. Throughout The Chamber of Secrets he didn’t hold back when it came to his thoughts on the new Defence Against the Darks Arts teacher. He even called him a ‘brainless git’ on one occasion.

Hermione, on the other hand, genuinely believed that Lockhart had done everything he’d claimed, despite the fact that he showed absolutely no talent as either a teacher or a wizard throughout Harry’s second year.

In fact, Hermione was so fixated by him, that – much to Ron’s disgust – she outlined all of Lockhart’s lessons in little hearts on her timetable.
