When Marvel were weighing up who to cast in the role of Thor, they eventually whittled down their opinions to two guys: Chris Hemsworth and Liam Hemsworth. That's right: Marvel decided that Thor had to be at least one of the Hemsworth clan, and - though they thought Liam would be great in the role - the studio eventually opted for ol' Chris. Liam Hemsworth's time to play a superhero will come, though - with the upcoming adaptation of Shazam, hopefully. Given Shazam's standing as an old-fashioned superhero of sorts, Liam - having proven himself to be both charismatic and action-worthy across the span of The Hunger Games films - would make an ideal choice for the iconic character. He's both sincere and likeable, and there's no denying that he'd look great in that suit. Just picture this guy playing alongside The Rock, too, who has been cast as villain Black Adam. And doesn't it seem kind of perfect that - after trying to nab the role of Thor over at Marvel - Liam end up over at DC instead, playing a similarly lightning-bolt wielding superhero? It's the sort of inspired casting that the studio just can't afford to pass up.
