10 Family Films That Secretly Brainwashed You

5. A Goofy Movie (1995)

Every now and then you see advertisements for €œFathers€™ Rights€ lawyers, divorce attorneys who use their pro-Dad shtick to bring in more customers. Two decades ago, a group of them pooled their money and combined forces with Disney in order to make the biggest €œFathers€™ Rights€ movie of all time: A Goofy Movie. While watching A Goofy Movie, a single question arises: where€™s Max€™s mother? Or rather, the question doesn€™t arise, because A Goofy Movie is so adept at subtly manipulating the viewer. Deep down, it becomes clear what happened to Goofy€™s wife: she abandoned her family. She left them all behind, and as a result Goofy was so traumatized that he turned into an ignoramus, more animal than dog-man-thing. That way, when little kids watch this movie and their own houses are inevitably torn apart, they will know it is the mother€™s fault. It is always the mother€™s fault.
