Poor Keanu. Who'd have thought that an actor would wind up starring in a movie because his friend forged his signature? Bizarre as that might sound, that's exactly what happened with little-seen thriller movie The Watcher. After said friend signed The Matrix actor up for the movie, he was left with little choice but to star in it - or face being sued for a whole bunch of cash. In a shocking turn of events (and a year after the movie was released in theatres), Reeves came forward and explained how he "never found the script interesting, but a friend of mine forged my signature on the agreement. I couldn't prove he did and I didn't want to get sued, so I had no other choice but to do the film." Oddly for Keanu, he played a serial killer. Candidly, Reeves refused to do any press for the movie in the build-up to its release. Which was probably a good idea, regardless of forgery, given that it's a super naff film. Let's hope that the actor made the decision to sever all ties with the "friend" in question, hm?
