10 Fascinating Star Wars Facts That Sound Fake (But Will Blow Your Mind!)
10. A Character's Name Was Created On Late Night With Conan O'Brien
Writer, comedian, and talk show host Conan O'Brien has surprisingly had quite an influence on the galaxy far, far away over the years.
A few years back, O'Brien managed to convince J. J. Abrams to get the term "Jub Jub" into The Force Awakens. But back in 2007, he was also hilariously responsible for the naming of a character from the original Star Wars trilogy.
With George Lucas himself opting to stop by his show for a chat in 2007, the mind behind all things Star Wars was eventually asked by Associate Producer Jordan Schlansky if he knew the name of the Imperial Officer who was famously choked by Darth Vader on the Death Star during A New Hope.
After a brief moment of thought, Lucas comically told the world that the character's name was "Conan Antonio Motti." But Lucas' joke Conan-inspired name for the character actually soon became accepted canon as the general's Wookieepedia page was swiftly updated with his new name the very next day.
So, there you have it, Conan didn't just oddly force a "Jub Jub" into the Skywalker Saga, he also managed to somehow make his own name a canon piece of Star Wars mythology.
