10 Film Inventions We Wish Were Real

8. Looper - Time Machine

Who wouldn't want to travel forward in time and discover that you'll one day turn into Bruce Willis? That's exactly what you can do (well, if you're Joseph Gordon-Levitt anyway) with Looper's time machine. All you have to do is step inside and bang, you can travel to any point time that your heart desires, and just imagine the possibilities that could bring. You'd be able to witness significant moments from history, go back and give your past self advice or even prevent tragedies from ever occurring, like Stuart Pearce's 1990 penalty miss - or 9/11, it's your choice. There are many other similar machines throughout various other films, but this one is the most simplistic as it's essentially a room or a pod, so we could all easily have one in our downstairs cupboards or garages. Well, okay, not that easily, but it wouldn't involve driving at high speeds or anything like that, so that's why it gets my vote. That and the hope that I might find a huge pile of gold in it.
