7. A Low Down Dirty Shame (1994)

This is another hood classic. This time a action-comedy written, directed by, and starring Keenen Ivory Wayans. The story follows Andre Shame (played by Wayans), a private detective formerly of the LAPD, as he tries to crack a case involving a big time drug lord. He has an assistant named Peaches (played by a young Jada Pinkett Smith). In terms of action, Wayans the director relies too much on age-old clichés such as slow-motion -- a tiresome habit that undercuts the potential excitement of the story. As far as the comedy goes, it's definitely hit-or-miss. Though, there are plenty of genuinely funny scenes that makes this film memorable. Jada Pinkett's animated performance as Shame's fast-talking girl is one of a few outstanding elements. If you€™re an In Living Color fan or if you enjoyed any of the other Wayans Brothers films, then this movie deserves your attention as well.
