10 Films That Don’t Deserve Their 0% Rotten Tomatoes Rating

3. On Deadly Ground (1994)

During the '90s there was this trend in Hollywood of trying to make environmental awareness a thing. You had movies like Once Upon a Forest, FernGully: The Last Rainforest and the most notable, the action-film blunder that is On Deadly Ground. The film stars Steven Seagal as a martial artist/environmental agent who takes on a ruthless oil corporation. Well, as the Rotten Tomatoes reviews show, not everyone is a fan of this film. It's true that the endeavor was simply a vanity project through and through. The directing isn't very good and the acting is what'd you expect from a movie like this. Though, it is nice to see a big-budget movie try to be about something (even if it's an environmental message coming from Steven Seagal of all people). Michael Caine does a commendable job as an over-the-top, corrupt CEO of a big oil company. At the end of the day the movie is actually quite hilarious, though unfortunately takes itself way too seriously.
