10 Films That Deserve Sequels

10. Serenity

The little franchise that could deserves at least one last outing. After Joss Whedon's cult sci-fi series Firefly was cancelled in 2003 after only one series, fans (who call themselves Browncoats) were outraged that they would never get to see the culmination of these beloved characters' arcs. Fortunately sanity prevailed and in 2005, Serenity was released. The film sought to continue and resolve the stories from Firefly and it did so in spectacular fashion. However, fans still want more and would welcome a Serenity sequel. Sure, it'd be missing some characters who met heartbreaking ends in the first film but that's the Whedon way- create extraordinarily likeable characters and then kill them, thus devastating your fan base. Any follow up is sure to feature at least one person referring to leaves on wind, leading to cinemas full of weeping adults.
