If you needed further convincing that the film industry can make pretty dumb decisions when left to their own devices, consider this. There are 7 films in the Saw franchise. But there has never been a sequel to Se7en, which is a far better film than the original Saw. Released in 1995, it starred Brad Pitt, Kevin Spacey, Gwyneth Paltrow and Morgan Freeman. And if you're thinking that'd be a hard band to get back together, the good news is that it wouldn't be necessary because 2 of them are dead by the end of the film and 1 of them is possibly locked up. So how could a sequel even work? Well, though the original killer is no longer around, imagine the horror of a copycat emerging 20 years later...maybe just as Pitt's Mills has got his life back together?
