10 Franchise Reboots That Were Better Than The Original
10. Man Of Steel
HEAR US OUT! The original Superman movie is a classic. No arguments here. The three movies that followed were... far from it. And the same can be said of the 2006 soft reboot starring Brandon Routh. We were led to believe a good 21st century Superman movie was nigh impossible.
Zack Snyder took that challenge and brought us Man of Steel, an epic movie that captured the spectacle of two Gods battling like no other before it. Man of Steel gets a hard rap these days but it had a ton of heart, a great villain, incredible cinematography, and jaw-dropping action. It was exactly what a post-Christopher Nolan Superman movie would be.
Henry Cavill may be the most polarising part of the DCU franchise, with his perpetual scowl being deemed atypical of Superman, but his portrayal was something different and more modern. If you want to know what his Superman will be like moving forward, check out the very end of Justice League; a smiling, happy-go-lucky Clark Kent.
So hold your breath and give the man a chance. Man of Steel was a fantastic, action-packed adventure that blew Superman Returns out of the stratosphere.
