10 Franchise Reboots That Were Better Than The Original

5. The Ocean's Trilogy

The original Ocean's movie was a 1960 flick that starred huge names of the day, like Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. The movie wasn't all that great however, whereas the 2001 reboot was a fantastic action movie that spawned a franchise that's still going today.

George Clooney spear-headed a star-studded cast like few before it in the early 2000's. Clooney rounded-up the likes of Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Bernie Mac, Casey Aflleck, Elliot Gould and Julia Roberts to star in the reboot.

The movie was Clooney at his charming best as a con-man released from jail, who jumps right back into the world of crime with his biggest scheme yet. The Ocean's series is arguably the mac-daddy of heist movies.

Ocean's 8 could be considered a reboot but it's more of a spin-off, although it's a pretty good movie in its own right. While it certainly feels like a band-wagon movie of reboots-but-with-women, the Ocean's franchise is one that works just as well with a star-studded cast of ladies as it does gents. The Ocean's series has always been a who's-who of modern Hollywood, and here's hoping the next iteration can be the best yet.
