10 Franchises To Binge Watch While You're Home (And Their Viewing Orders)
2. The Batman Live Action Movies
The Caped Crusader, the World’s Greatest Detective, Gotham’s Bat, Spooky BatSpooky - Batman is perhaps arguably the most influential character in all of pop culture. As such, his live action movies have been some of the most anticipated releases in film history. In the modern era, we effectively began with Tim Burton’s Batmanverse before being treated to the magic of the Dark Knight trilogy. As the DCEU didn’t have a solo Batman movie (yet), it doesn’t quite make this list.
For the most part, somehow these movies have lived up to the expectations. Michael Keaton was critically acclaimed for his performances as Bruce Wayne, as he duelled with Jack Nicholson’s Joker and Danny DiVito’s Penguin. Christian Bale was hailed as the greatest Batman ever, especially in his epic clash with Heath Ledger’s iconic Joker. And Val Kilmer…. had nipples in his batsuit.
So if you do want to dive into a faraway world and lose yourself in it for a while, then Gotham might just be the destination.
On a side note, Batman and Robin was not mentioned because of course it wasn’t. Still if you do want to see the Batman franchise at its lowest and a record number of bad puns, then by all means go ahead.
