The entire premise of Revenge Of The Nerds is wish fulfilment. Set in college, it follows the struggles of some poor, hard done by nerdy guys who just want to defeat the mean jocks. As often happens in college films, hijinks ensue and t's mostly just broadly wacky. So far, so harmless but unfortunately one scene in the movie makes it incredibly hard to sympathise with the nerds. Stan (played by Robert Carradine) has a crush on one of the jocks' girlfriends and instead of, oh, say, getting to know her and wait and see if she decides she likes him, he tricks her into having sex with him by pretending to be her boyfriend. Which is a crime in most places, usually called something like "rape by deception". Not as funny in retrospect.
