10 Great Asian Horror Movies You Probably Haven't Seen
10. Sadako Vs. Kayako
This crossover between Japan's two most iconic horror franchises is a spooky cinematic slug-match that is legitimately difficult to understand how or why it even exists. That is in no way a criticism, by the way.
The plot is convoluted to say the least. Essentially, two girls get cursed, one by Sadako and the other by Kayako. A plan is made to have the two curses clash in hopes of cancelling them out in order to save their lives.
While it has its frightful moments, when compared to the other films in both series it isn't really all that scary. However, the scares aren't the main attraction here. First and foremost, this movie is absolutely absurd. The concept alone is ludicrous in itself, and the film takes every opportunity it can to embrace its own insanity.
Sadako Vs. Kayako might not have you scared out of your wits, but it's sure one hell of a good time.
